Privacy Policy

You are visiting the Share it! Science blog at www.shareitscience.com written and managed by myself, Sarah Benton Feitlinger. Privacy information is controlled by Sarah Benton Feitlinger who can be reached at shareitscience@gmail.com

To comply with privacy laws I am explaining here how information about you may be collected as you use this website.

This blog is hosted by Blogger. Like many websites, Blogger collects information from you, such as your IP address. It is my understanding that this information is used primarily in data collection. It is not information that I access. Blogger is compliant with privacy laws.

I am an affiliate with Amazon, Bookshop, and several companies through Awin and Shareasale. These companies may collect information about you when you click on your links or shop. They are compliant with privacy laws.

Ads on the site are hosted by Google Adsense. As anywhere on the internet, your IP address is used by ad networks to understand your behavior as a consumer and often tailor ads to your interests. Google Adsense is compliant with privacy laws. To learn more about Google Adsense data usage, click here.

I use MailChimp to send you e-mail such as newsletters. When you sign up for this service you will provide your name and e-mail address. You can learn more about how MailChimp uses this information here. I do not store names and e-mail addresses and your information will never be sold to a third party.

I use Google Analytics to learn about my readers, what pages they visit most on the blog, etc. This helps me to write better content for you.
Here is some specific information about analytics:
Google analytics records information about the pages a user has seen, for example the URL of the page, time of day, device used, etc. The information collected is anonymized and sent to Google Analytics for analysis. Google Analytics mainly uses first-party cookies to report on visitor interactions on this website. Users may disable cookies or delete any individual cookie.
Google Analytics also collects Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to provide and protect the security of the service, and to give website owners a sense of which country, state, or city in the world their users come from (also known as “IP geolocation”). See this page for Google Analytics security and usage of data.

This blog collects cookies. These are bits of information that track your internet behavior so that search engines like Google know you have visited a page before. Many websites collect cookies. You can opt-out of cookies using the settings on your web browser, although you should note that doing so can change how many websites perform.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. YouTube, Pinterest, WordPress.org, Ads etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged into that website.
